Traveling

Check with your doctor before traveling. Depending on the severity of an individual’s MPS I, they may have limited mobility and may need to travel with medications, devices, and caregivers. Before any trip, make sure that everything you need can be brought with you or will be available at the new location.

If you are flying, call the airline in advance to make sure they can accommodate your needs and to discuss their additional services for passengers with disabilities or medical conditions.

If you are currently taking various treatments or medications for your disease, you can investigate obtaining treatment or other medical care in other locations, particularly if you are traveling for any extended time and would miss treatments or medications recommended by your doctor.
